Setting up Google Analytics Adjusted Bounce Rate [Guide]

This post explains about setting up Google Analytics adjusted bounce rate.

This can be done both by programmatically and with the help of a plugin.

Method 1: Via Code

For Example, Below Code is your Google Analytics Tracking Code:

<script>
  (function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
  (i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
  m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
  })(window,document,'script','https://www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');

  ga('create', 'UA-XXXXXXX', 'auto');
  ga('send', 'pageview');

</script>

Add this Line of Code before the </script> tag.

setTimeout("ga('send','event','adjusted bounce rate','30 seconds')",30000);

Then your code will look like this:

<script>
  (function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
  (i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
  m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
  })(window,document,'script','https://www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');

  ga('create', 'UA-XXXXXXX', 'auto');
  ga('send', 'pageview');

  setTimeout("ga('send','event','adjusted bounce rate','30 seconds')",30000);

</script>

It will calculate your Bounce Rate from 30000ms = 30 seconds.

Method 2: Via WordPress Plugin

There are a lot of Plugins available out there in WordPress Repo. But I Recommend this Plugin. It works perfectly.

Click Here to Install: Complete Analytics Optimization Suite (CAOS)

After Install you can Access the Plugin Control Panel by Clicking
Settings -> Optimize Analytics

Here you have to Give Google Tracking ID found on your Google Analytics Admin Panel.

Set the Use adjusted bounce rate as 30 (30 Seconds) and Position as you wish. and Click on the Save Changes Button,

That’s All. After Setting up. you’ll get adjusted bounce rate based on your fixed time in the setting panel.

Thanks :slight_smile:
Already using CAOS
It also helps to store analytics js locally.
