One of my clients is running an online storefront in the USA. He has been a successful entrepreneur for a long time and recently, he has migrated the storefront to the WooCommerce platform. Now, he is facing the issue of adding a payment gateway to his storefront.
As you all know that payment gateway is such a critical aspect of E-Commerce. So, anyone knows the method to solve this burning issues? Any suggestion or links to the solution are welcomed. Thank You In Advance.!
Now, there are two famous payment gateways for WooCommerce - PayPal & Square. You can use any one of them. Here, I’m providing you the solution both the payment gateways.
WooCommerce platform comes with PayPal integration. For extra features, you can move to the WooCommerce store and download them.
Whenever you’re using PayPal, make sure have an SSL certificate for your online store. Once you complete this requirement, you can move to the configuration phase.
For that purpose, move to WooCommerce > Settings & select Payments tab.
Now, for activating PayPal, click Enabled slider & then, Set Up button.
Here, you need to be careful about one thing. If you’re unchecking Enable PayPal Standard option, you need to have a business account with PayPal. Also, don’t forget to check Enable PayPal sandbox option. It enables you to test transactions without sending any money.
For allowing your site to interact with PayPal, you need to setup Instant Payment Notification (IPN). For that purpose, move to your PayPal account and click on the settings icon.
Here, you need to select My selling preferences .
Now, move to Instant payment notifications and click the link.
After clicking the link, you will get redirected to IPN settings. Here, you need to provide the URL of your website. Finally, click on the Save Changes which will seal the deal for you.
Now, just taste the Payment Gateway once and you’re good to go.
If you want to use Square instead of Paypal, you need to install Square for WooCommerce plugin. After that, you’ll be asked to link Square account to the website.
For that purpose, move to WooCommerce > Settings > Integrations . Now, click on Connect with Square button. Here, you will be prompted for a verification code.
Now, it’s time to authorize WooCommerce for reading data from the square:
For this purpose, scroll down and click on the Allow button. Once you do that, then WooCommerce will provide you a screen displaying a confirmation message.
Now, click on the link to move back to your website. The next step is setting up your business location.
For that purpose, move to WooCommerce > Settings and select the location from the dropdown list.
Now, scroll down and check/uncheck the box or categories, inventory, and more. Finally, click the Save Changes button.
Move back to Payments tab and make sure you’ve got Square enabled.
If this step is done successfully, you will be good to go.!
